Resource Recovery Australia (ACT) | -

Resource Recovery Australia is a waste reduction, re-use and recycling social enterprise working in partnership with Councils across NSW, ACT and WA since 1991. RRA manage the weighbridge contract for ACT NOWaste across the ACT.
 

New South Wales

Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises | Ingleside

Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises Pty Ltd (Kimbriki) is an innovative waste and recycling centre on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.  Kimbriki has a long, successful history and record of achievement dating back to 1974 when the gates first opened. Over the years, we have grown in size and strength, and complexity – a natural progression in our industry.
 
The Kimbriki site receives over 330,000 tonnes of waste annually, with more than 80% currently being diverted from landfill and recycled into products such as mulch and gravels.
 
Kimbriki is owned by Northern Beaches Council (96%) and Mosman Council (4%) and works with its community, shareholders, employees, partners and the waste industry to deliver and promote efficient services that reduce waste to landfill and increase resource recovery. Kimbriki aims to be a centre of excellence for environmental services associated with the generation of waste and to provide education to the community.

The Bower Reuse and Repair Centre | Marrickville

The Bower are an environmental charity and cooperative committed to stopping usable items from going to landfill. Their shopfronts in Marrickville and Parramatta sell second-hand furniture, appliances, household goods, salvaged building materials, bikes, books and more. Other notable services offered are collection and delivery services around metro Sydney, 'Tricks of The Trade' workshops which offer new skills in reuse and repair, and their 'Repair Cafe' where members of the community can come in for free assistance repairing anything from bikes to electrical equipment. 

CitizenBlue Pty Ltd | St Peters

CitizenBlue is a social enterprise and charity working who's mission is 'No Waste To Water'. It is owned by it's member groups Boomerang Alliance, Clean Up Australia, Green Connect, Landcare NSW, Resource Recovery Australia, SEA LIFE ANZ Trust, Surfrider Foundation Australia and Total Environment Centre. CitizenBlue is working with the Return and Earn scheme to help businesses and communities get better access to their 10 cent refunds on eligible beverage containers. With a brand new automatic processing depot open in Inner Sydney, CitizenBlue uses innovation and accessibility to provide much needed workable solutions for events, festivals, businesses, clubs, pubs and bars. All proceeds from handling fees and donated containers are distributed back into the community.

Garage Sale Trail | Sydney

The Garage Sale Trail is the fire-breathing godzilla of all garage sales. It’s a giant purpose-driven marketplace powered by 150 local councils and the amazing people of Australia. With over 10,000 garage sales and stalls happening around the country, it’s a great reason to declutter, fundraise or make a little pocket money, meet a few locals, find treasure and have a whole lotta fun!

Almost 40 years later, Reverse Garbage is now an internationally recognised, award-winning environmental co-operative committed to promoting sustainability.

Penrith Skills for Jobs T/A Jobquest | Penrith

Penrith Skills for Jobs Ltd trading as JobQuest was set up by a group of concerned citizens and volunteers in 1987 to provide basic community services for disadvantaged people in Western Sydney. Commenced as Community Youth Support Services (CYSS), JobQuest has expanded their services from at risk youth to include long term unemployed, people with disabilities, mature age job seekers, refugees and other highly disadvantaged  target groups. Now operating in both Western Sydney and Newcastle, JobQuestsupports disadvantaged members of the community to be resourceful, independent and self-reliant, and be connected and accepted by the general community and the public.
 

Green Connect | Port Kembla

Green Connect is a social enterprise - a different kind of business. Green Connect recovers waste and grows fair food - food that's good for those who eat it, those who grow it, and the planet. Green Connect employ and tap into the ideas and talents of former refugees and young people.

Resource Recovery Australia (NSW) | Mid Coast, Dunmore, Moss Vale, Cumberland & Parramatta

Resource Recovery Australia is a waste reduction, re-use and recycling social enterprise working in partnership with Councils across NSW, ACT and WA. Established in 1991, RRA operate re-use centres, community recycling centers, transfer stations, landfills, upcycling studios and an innovative mobile problem waste community recycling service in partnership with Councils. RRA create training and employment opportunities for people experiencing disadvantage.
 

Northern Territory

Environmental Recyclers NT | Tumbling Waters

A small business partnership operating from Tumbling Waters, a rural community in the Northern Territory. We restore or reuse and barter or sell goods that are re-usable and we dismantle goods and recycle their parts where possible. This includes degassing fridges, freezers and air-conditioners to Australian legal standards so as to decrease the amount of ozone-depleting and greenhouse gases escaping into the atmosphere.

Queensland

Incredable Tip Shop | Mackay

Incredable Tip Shop is a part of Incredable Ltd, a local not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing secure employment and training opportunities for people with disabilities or other disadvantaged jobseekers in our Community. These jobs are provided by operating commercially viable businesses. The Incredable Tip Shop operates the recyclables recovery facility at the Waste Transfer Station in Paget, and employs over twenty staff plus a further 6 volunteers.

Endeavour Foundation | Cannon Hill

We work in partnership with local councils to operate tip shops and recycle markets, which recover good quality items that were destined to become landfill. All proceeds are reinvested back into supporting people with a disability.

Finding Workable Solutions | Victor Harbor

A community organisation delivering high quality employment support services for people with a disability. FWS has six businesses across 10 locations in South Australia, including the successful ‘Salvage and Save’ social enterprise model.

Resource Work Cooperative | South Hobart

A self-funding worker’s cooperative. We can supply materials for your next renovation or art project, pick up your reusable goods for free, or even sustainably deconstruct entire buildings. Our main objectives: to create employment, to minimise waste and to promote waste minimisation in the community.
